Overview

Xstrata Zinc believes the wellbeing of our employees, their families and the communities in which we operate is crucial to maintaining our social licence to operate our business.

We have used the extension of the mine life by more than 20 years as a catalyst to broaden the focus of MRM’s corporate social involvement program. Through this program, and in partnership with government and other stakeholders, we will support regional development to deliver strong economic and social benefits to the broader community.

The corporate social involvement program forms part of Xstrata's Sustainable Development Framework.

Our Management System comprises a policy, standards and procedures which can be cross mapped to ISO14001 and AS/NZS4801 and complies with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Index.

These standards have also been cross mapped with the Minerals Council of Australia Enduring Value Principles for sustainable development.
